SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program)
New Jersey’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, NJ SNAP, provides food assistance to families with low incomes to help them buy groceries through a benefits card accepted in most food retail stores and some farmers markets. Eligibility is set by several factors, such as income and resources. You can use SNAP benefits to stretch your food budget and buy nutritious foods that can keep you and your family healthy.
Visit www.NJSNAP.gov to learn more about the SNAP program, current income limits and special eligibility situations, including if you are or if you live with a senior or a person with a disability or if you are a college student. You also will find resources, such as a checklist of documents you need when you apply.

You can also fill out and print an application to mail or bring with you when you apply. An application can be completed on line at NJHelps.
Participants need to let us know of changes in your household. You can print the Change Report and mail it to us.
